FIONA JANE Q&A

Fiona Jane

Recently I wrote a blog post where I asked your opinion about my blog. One of you readers, Helle, asked what I do in my everyday life and what my education is. Those of you who have followed me from the beginning know me throughout my studies at KEA, exams, various events, modeling jobs, international fashion weeks, traveling, etc. But after I’ve joined Looklab there have been lots of new readers, so I thought I would do a Q&A on myself and show some pictures from my everyday. Please fill free to ask more questions. / Fiona Jane

STYLING DAY: I do lots of styling work and this picture is from the making of the editorial in London for the next Lookletter. Keep an eye on our next LOOKLETTER and SIGN UP HERE.

MODEL DAY: Some days I have model jobs. The latest job was for IC Companys. This picture I have taken of two model colleagues. Here we are waiting before an intern fashionshow for Jackpot, Sept. 2011. (In the background you see their design department). I work with model agency Le management.

LOOKLAB OFFICE: Here I work, do my blogging, have meetings with the Looklab team etc. I want a bulletin board to make it a more creative room!

HAPPENINGS: During the week I often have various events that I attend. Here I am at the Principles by Ben de Lisi fashion show at NIMB, Sept. 2011. (You can purchase his clothes in Magasin, DK).

EVENT MANAGEMENT: I arrange lots of events, that I do not always share here on the blog. Here I am preparing an event, with helium filled banana balloons at a nightclub. The confetti machine is being filled up, so it is ready for partying! My NEXT event that I am planning right now is LOOKLAB’s 1 year anniversary party together with the Berliner concept Bananamania. SAVE THE DATE:  Friday, 21st October.

DJ GIG: Together with Cecilie Lassen, Sept. 2011 at SIMONS. Yes I have fun, as you can see! I am wearing a H&M pencil skirt, Wolford bustier & vintage jacket.

ENGLISH TRANSLATION:

1:What are you working with? I am a blogger, stylist, freelance event manager and DJ at weekends.

2. Where were you raised? I was born in Blågårdsgade at Nørrebro in Copenhagen. But I grew up in the countryside on a farm with lots of animals and all that. I attended a business gymnasium in Aarhus, and after that I moved abroad.

3: What is your education? I am a qualified design technologist specializing in experience design from KEA Design (formerly BEC-design) in Hellerup, DK. I have taken a bachelor in Brand design and was finished with it in January 2011. I plan to take a master at the London College of Fashion, but I have not yet made up my mind. Have any of you taken a course there? I would love to hear about how it is.

4. Why are you attending fashion weeks -are you sent by a magazine or is it just on your own? I participate in fashion weeks out of self-interest in order to cover them for Spotding. Depending on the individual fashion week, I have different projects. There was a fashion week where I arranged an international blogger camp in cooperation with COVER magazine and another fashion week, where I made Monki TELEVISION. So every fashion week is always different and inspiring in a new way.

5. How and why have you gotten into the fashion industry? I’ve always been interested in fashion and design and in my childhood I dreamed about becoming a fashion designer. My interest in fashion was reflected in my teenage room, where I had posters of fashion editorials and models . I became a fashion model when I was 17 years old  and then went to Milan after high school. Here I lived, worked and was traveling for abroad approx. 2 years. Through model jobs, I got an insight in the fashion industry and it gave me lots of knowhow. My interest for fashion has only grown since and today I am happy, that I work with my passion and can share it through my blog.
